Slow Cooked BBQ Lamb
Oh lamb how I love thee, let me count the ways … Now, Slow Cooked BBQ Lamb … my husband told me that if he wasn’t already married to me he’d marry the BBQ lamb. Ridiculous I know, but so funny.
Juicy, tasty, fatty, tender, succulent, versatile. Yep, lamb is definitely a favourite of our house, and in fact a favourite of our whole community. And I’m stoked about that because I grew up eating lamb and just love it!
So to marry lamb with all the flavours of the Middle East is just the bomb. Seriously good. And then to put it on the BBQ and allow it to slow cook so that its crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside; well, that’s just heaven on a stick. This recipe creates lamb that is melt-in-your-mouth juicy with gorgeous smoky flavours. Team it with one of our salads (and here’s another option) for a perfect dinner or lunch combo.
Yes, it’s not that traditional a method, with typical middle eastern lamb being cooked on a stick, like a kebab, or whole on a spit, but I promise you that the marinade draws on all the flavours of Egypt and Lebanon. The Slow Cooked BBQ process just ensures you get that beautiful caramelisation. You could choose to put it in the slow cooker if you don’t want to watch it. The flavours will still be ridiculously good, and the texture will still be super tender and juicy, but you won’t get that lovely outer crust that BBQ’s gift. But it still wouldn’t disappoint I can tell you.
